Garner Police Investigate Fatal Shooting on Timber Drive

GARNER, N.C. — A man who was found shot inside a vehicle Monday night in Garner has died, according to the Garner Police Department.

Officers responded to a reported shooting around 7:16 p.m. on Timber Drive near Vandora Springs Road. When police arrived, they discovered one person inside a car suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was identified as Joseph Adams. He was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, but police confirmed that he died Tuesday morning as a result of his injuries.

“The department extends its thoughts and prayers to Joseph’s family and friends during this difficult time,” a spokesperson for the Garner Police Department said.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Police are asking anyone who was traveling on Timber Drive between Tryon Road and White Oak Road between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Monday and may have dash camera footage to contact investigators.

Additionally, anyone with information related to the shooting is urged to come forward. Authorities note that even seemingly minor details could help advance the investigation and provide answers and closure to the victim’s family.
