Gonzales Community Mourns 25-Year-Old Killed in Bar Shooting; Suspect Arrested

GONZALES, La. — An arrest has been made following a deadly shooting outside a Gonzales bar early Monday morning, according to the Gonzales Police Department.

Police said Breeze Michael Sincere, 23, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting. He was taken into custody in Jefferson Parish and later transferred to the Ascension Parish Jail. Authorities noted that additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.

The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. on January 12 outside Park Place Bar on Highway 30. Officers responding to the scene found John Anthony Wilson, 25, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, Wilson died from his injuries.

Investigators said the victim and the suspect arrived at the bar together and later became involved in an argument. Surveillance video reportedly shows one of the men pulling out a handgun and shooting the other twice in the chest.

Detectives reviewed surveillance footage and followed multiple investigative leads, which ultimately led to the arrest.
