Homedale Woman Killed in Boise Crash Remembered for Community Leadership

BOISE, Idaho — The Boise and Homedale communities are mourning the tragic loss of 20-year-old Gabriela González, who was killed Friday night, February 6, 2026, in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 84.

According to the Idaho State Police, 37-year-old Kaleb Lancaster of Nampa was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes when he struck a Freightliner truck and collided head-on with a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. Gabriela was a passenger in the Hyundai. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Lancaster fled but was arrested shortly afterward and now faces multiple charges, including DUI, involuntary manslaughter, and assault, among other pending charges.

Gabriela González was a bright and driven young Latina who left a lasting mark on her community. She was actively involved in projects supporting agricultural workers and worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those around her.
