Homicide Investigation Underway After Louisville Shooting Claims Life

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Metro Police Department is actively investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 38-year-old Jashaun Brown Thursday night in the California neighborhood.

Officers responded just before 10 p.m. to reports of gunfire in the 1600 block of Garland Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Brown suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Jefferson County coroner later confirmed his identity.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No arrests have been made, and authorities have not released details about what led up to the incident.
