Husband and Wife Found Dead in Westminster Home; Homicide Investigation Underway

WESTMINSTER, S.C. — Authorities in Oconee County are investigating the deaths of a husband and wife who were found dead Thursday night inside their Westminster home.

According to officials, Oconee County 911 Communications received a call at approximately 9:05 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, reporting that the couple had been discovered deceased at a residence on Cromer Moore Drive. The call was placed by a family member who went to the home to conduct a welfare check after being unable to reach them.

The scene falls under the jurisdiction of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office and the Oconee County Coroner’s Office. Based on preliminary observations and the initial investigation at the scene, authorities stated that the deaths are being investigated as a homicide.

The victims have been identified as Larry Moore, 76, and his wife, Sandra Moore, 75.

Investigators have not released details regarding the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Officials said no additional information will be made public at this time due to the ongoing investigation and pending autopsies.
