GUTHRIE, Okla. — Investigators have identified the husband and wife found shot to death in an apparent murder-suicide Sunday night in Guthrie as Meredith Kimani and Mark Kimani, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say Meredith Kimani called 911 seeking help shortly before the incident, requesting that officers come to her home to remove her husband. The call then disconnected. Investigators believe Mark Kimani shot Meredith multiple times before taking his own life.
Deputies are continuing to investigate the events leading up to the shooting. Capt. John Evans with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office said officials are still working to determine what occurred prior to the 911 call.
Meredith Kimani was well known in the Oklahoma film industry and remembered by friends and colleagues as a compassionate, dedicated professional with a strong commitment to the safety and well-being of others. She was a mother of four and grandmother of eight.
The investigation remains ongoing.
