With heavy hearts, Addison Community Schools mourns the passing of Nolon Haag, a beloved first-grade student and a bright light in the Panther family.
Though quiet in nature, Nolon’s warm smile and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His kindness, patience, and thoughtful presence touched classrooms, hallways, and hearts throughout the school. Even at such a young age, Nolon showed leadership and compassion, and he will always be remembered for being the very best big brother.
The loss of Nolon has deeply impacted students, staff, and families. The school recognizes that grief is experienced differently by each person—some may seek quiet reflection, others comfort in sharing memories, and some additional support. To help during this difficult time, counseling and grief support services are available for students, staff, and families. The district encourages anyone in need to reach out.
Plans to honor Nolon’s life and memory will be shared as they become available.
As the Addison community comes together in mourning, we hold close the memories of Nolon’s gentle heart and the joy he brought to those around him. Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with Nolon, the Haag family, and all who are grieving this unimaginable loss.
Nolon Haag will forever be remembered and deeply missed.
