In Loving Memory: Allenhurst Community Mourns the Loss of Kortney Jackson

ALLENHURST, Ga. — The Allenhurst community is mourning the loss of 20-year-old Kortney Jackson, whose life was tragically cut short in a Sunday morning crash in Liberty County.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the fatal accident was reported shortly after 6 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 84/Ga. 38 and John Martin Road, near Liberty County High School. Trooper Christopher Cronsell said witness accounts indicate that Jackson was driving a 2016 Honda Civic westbound vehicle in the eastbound lanes when her vehicle collided head-on with a 2025 Genesis GV70.

Jackson was rushed by emergency responders to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville. Despite life-saving efforts, she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Her passing has left family, friends, and the entire Allenhurst community grieving the loss of a young woman remembered for the light she brought to those around her.

The driver of the Genesis, identified as an adult male, was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. Authorities reported he was conscious and alert at the time of transport. No further information about his condition has been released.

Following the crash, U.S. 84/Ga. 38 was shut down for several hours as Georgia State Patrol troopers and local law enforcement conducted a detailed investigation of the scene. The roadway was reopened once the investigation and cleanup were completed. The crash remains under investigation.

As the Allenhurst community comes together in mourning, thoughts, prayers, and condolences continue to be extended to the family and loved ones of Kortney Jackson. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
