In Loving Memory: Laura Thomas, 69, of Magnolia

TOWNSEND, Del. — It is with deep sorrow that the Magnolia community mourns the passing of Laura Thomas, 69, who was tragically killed in a two-vehicle collision on Dupont Parkway near Summit Bridge Road on Monday, February 9, 2026.

According to Delaware State Police, the crash occurred around 11:40 p.m. when a Nissan traveling southbound collided with a Toyota in the northbound left lane that was preparing to turn onto Summit Bridge Road. Thomas, the front passenger in the Toyota, was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Toyota, a 43-year-old woman from Dover, along with three other passengers, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Nissan, a 50-year-old man from Townsend, suffered serious injuries. The roadway was closed for approximately four hours as authorities investigated the crash.

Laura Thomas is remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the love she shared with family and friends. Her sudden and tragic passing has left the Magnolia community grieving. Thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones during this difficult time.
