SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — The San Bernardino community is mourning the tragic loss of Niliyah Montgomery, 19, who was fatally shot on February 1, 2026, outside her residence on the 1600 block of W. Concord Street.
According to the San Bernardino Police Department, Niliyah was involved in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation. During the incident, she was shot in the back. She was transported by ambulance to a local hospital but succumbed to her injuries, and her death is being investigated as a homicide.
Niliyah was the mother of a 3-year-old daughter and a beloved member of her family and community. Her sudden passing has left an irreplaceable void for her loved ones, friends, and all who knew her.
Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to contact the San Bernardino Police Department to assist with the investigation.
