In Loving Memory of Aaron O’Donnell

The Brownsville community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Aaron O’Donnell, 48, whose life was tragically cut short Tuesday night, January 20, 2026, following a pedestrian crash on Louisiana Highway 617 (Thomas Road).

According to Louisiana State Police Troop F, the crash occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Thomas Road just south of Old Natchitoches Road. Troopers were dispatched to the scene to investigate a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling southbound on Thomas Road when Aaron O’Donnell, who was wearing dark clothing, was crossing the roadway from west to east. For reasons that remain under investigation, he was struck by the vehicle.

Aaron sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later passed away despite life-saving efforts. The driver of the Hyundai was properly restrained and was not injured. Authorities stated that impairment is not suspected, though routine toxicology samples were collected as part of standard investigative procedures. The crash remains under investigation.

As news of Aaron’s passing spreads, family, friends, and loved ones are left grieving an unexpected and profound loss. His death serves as a solemn reminder of how fragile life can be and how quickly tragedy can strike.
