PORTAGE, N.Y. — The Portage community is mourning the tragic loss of Adam Curry, 25, who died Sunday after a snowmobile crash in Livingston County.
According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies began searching for Curry just before 5 p.m. after his family reported that he had not been seen or heard from for more than 12 hours. Curry was last known to be riding his snowmobile on trails and through fields near his home on Oakland Road.
While deputies investigated his disappearance, emergency dispatchers received a 911 call reporting a snowmobile that had crashed into a barn on Smith Road. First responders arrived and found Curry deceased at the scene.
Early findings indicate that Curry lost control of his snowmobile while attempting a turn in a field during the early morning hours, causing the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
Adam Curry’s sudden and untimely death has left family, friends, and the community grieving a life lost far too soon. Loved ones remember him as an energetic young man whose presence and spirit touched those around him.
