The Duncan, Oklahoma community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Ashton M. Lowe-Storey, 19, who passed away in a fatal crash early Saturday morning, January 17, in Stephens County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just after 2:30 a.m. along County Road 2900, about half a mile south of Terry Road. Ashton was driving south when the vehicle left the roadway, striking a tree and a fence before entering a field. The vehicle then struck another tree, rolled an undetermined number of times, and came to rest upside down.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and pronounced Ashton deceased. A passenger in the vehicle was injured and transported for medical treatment. Authorities noted in a preliminary report that seatbelts were not used by all occupants. Next of kin have been notified.
