SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TX — The San Benito community is mourning the sudden loss of Deandra Marie Delgadillo, who was found dead on Tuesday morning in South Padre Island. Family and friends reported her missing on Monday, and her body was later discovered after a search in the area.
Authorities said Delgadillo’s vehicle was located near the end of State Park Road 100 on Monday. Her body loop was subsequently found about half a mile north of the road’s end, police reported. Justice of the Peace Benny Ochoa ordered an autopsy and confirmed that Delgadillo was found with a gunshot wound to the head.
Officials emphasized that her death is not believed to be the result of a criminal act, and authorities are continuing to investigate to determine the circumstances surrounding her passing.
