In Loving Memory of Detective Christopher N. Skrobot

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Detective Christopher N. Skrobot of the New Castle County Division of Police, who died on Thursday, February 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a form of blood cancer.

Detective Skrobot began his career with the New Castle County Police Department on January 19, 2016, and quickly became known for his dedication, professionalism, and integrity. He served with distinction in the Patrol Division, the Police Motorcycle Unit, and the Evidence Detective Unit, leaving a lasting impact on the department and the community he so faithfully served.

Beyond his professional duties, Chris was a committed volunteer with the Claymont Fire Company, exemplifying a lifelong devotion to helping others. Even after his diagnosis in April 2024, he continued to serve his community and support his family with courage, determination, and grace.

Chris’s colleagues and loved ones remember him as a kind, selfless, and dedicated individual. “We’re gonna miss you, buddy. Look over us. Forever and always in our hearts. We can feel your presence and the light you left in this world,” they said.

Detective Skrobot leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion, and integrity that will never be forgotten. Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched.
