In Loving Memory of Eric Wilburn

MACON, Ga. — The Macon community is mourning the loss of 36-year-old Eric Wilburn, who was killed in a pedestrian crash Friday night on Jeffersonville Road.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office (BSO), the incident occurred just after 9 p.m. near the intersection of Purnell Drive, when Wilburn was struck while walking along the roadway. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene, and Coroner Ronnie Miley notified his family of the tragic loss.

The driver involved, 39-year-old Daniel Hicks, remained at the scene and reportedly called 911 after the crash. Hicks was taken into custody at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and charged with DUI, open container, no insurance, and driving with a suspended license.

Wilburn’s passing has left friends, family, and the Macon community in deep mourning. He is remembered as a valued member of the community whose life was tragically cut short.
