In Loving Memory of Jacqueline Neill, Michael Kilpatrick, and Cameron Kilpatrick

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids community is mourning the tragic loss of Jacqueline Neill and her two sons, Michael Kilpatrick, 13, and Cameron Kilpatrick, 15, who were found shot and killed inside their home Tuesday morning.

Police responded around 7:40 a.m. to a residence on Worden Street SE near Kalamazoo Avenue, where all three were discovered deceased. Grand Rapids Police Chief Eric Winstrom described the scene as “pure homicide” and said investigators believe the victims were innocent.

Authorities have since arrested a 44-year-old man, who is being held in the Kent County Jail on three counts of felony homicide. State police records indicate the man previously shared an address with Jacqueline Neill, though police have not confirmed the nature of their relationship.

Neill and her family had recently moved into the home—just six days before the shooting—according to her landlord. The family described the killings as “a senseless act of violence that has left our family utterly devastated” and expressed gratitude for the support of the Grand Rapids community.

Michael, a middle school student, and Cameron, a high school student, were enrolled in Kenowa Hills Public Schools, which has made crisis response teams available to help students, staff, and families cope with the tragedy.

As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of a devoted mother and two young lives cut tragically short. Their family, friends, classmates, and neighbors are holding their memories close, while seeking strength and comfort in one another during this unimaginable loss.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Grand Rapids Police Department at 616-456-3380 or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
