JEANERETTE, La. — The Jeanerette community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Jailon Rhine, 18, who tragically died in a fatal two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning on La. 674 near Cherri Lane.
According to the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office, Jailon was driving a 2013 Cadillac XTS eastbound when his vehicle collided head-on with a 2015 Ford F-350 traveling westbound. Despite the efforts of first responders, Jailon was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. Standard toxicology samples were collected from both drivers as part of the ongoing investigation.
Jailon was a young man full of promise, whose energy, spirit, and presence brought joy to everyone who knew him.
