HENDERSON, Ky. — The Henderson community is mourning the loss of 73-year-old James Culver, who was fatally shot Wednesday morning at a home in the 1100 block of Powell Street.
According to the Henderson Police Department, Culver was found at the residence with gunshot injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say the incident appears to be domestic-related.
A suspect, 20-year-old Harold Farmer, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with Culver’s death. Four other family members were unharmed but were taken to the police station to help investigators understand the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
While family members on scene told news outlets the dispute involved a grandfather and grandson, police have not confirmed those details. Authorities have emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
James Culver is remembered for the life he lived and the impact he had on those around him. His sudden passing has left a profound sense of loss for his family and the Henderson community. Friends and neighbors extend their deepest condolences to all who loved him during this difficult time.
