In Loving Memory of Jennifer Hathorn

CHATEAUGAY, N.Y. — The Chateaugay community is mourning the tragic loss of Jennifer Hathorn, 49, who was killed in a car crash Wednesday afternoon in Northern New York.

Authorities reported that the accident occurred just after noon on Route 11 when the vehicle Hathorn was riding in left the roadway. She was a passenger in a car driven by 24-year-old Ryan Bordeau of Malone, who lost control of the vehicle. Emergency responders arrived on the scene, but Hathorn succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police confirmed that Bordeau was driving under the influence, with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. He was arrested and arraigned on manslaughter charges and later released pending further legal proceedings. Investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Hathorn’s sudden passing has left family, friends, and the Chateaugay community grieving a life cut far too short.
