In Loving Memory of Joseph McCartney

WICHITA, Kan. — The Wichita community is mourning the tragic loss of 35-year-old Joseph McCartney, who died in a fatal traffic crash Monday morning in the 1500 block of East 21st Street North.

According to the Wichita Police Department, officers responded to the crash at approximately 7:11 a.m. Preliminary investigation indicates McCartney was driving a white Ford Focus hatchback when it collided with a disabled tractor-trailer stopped in the roadway. Early indications suggest that speed may have been a contributing factor in the collision. McCartney was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The sudden and untimely death of Joseph McCartney has left family, friends, and the Wichita community grieving a life cut far too short. Loved ones remember him as a valued member of the community whose presence and spirit touched the lives of those around him.
