In Loving Memory of Kayla King

TRINITY, Ala. — The Trinity community is mourning the loss of Kayla King, 35, who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Decatur.

According to Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn, the crash was reported at 6:22 a.m. along Alabama 24 at the intersection with Old Highway 24. Emergency responders from the Decatur Police Department, Decatur Fire and Rescue, and Decatur Morgan EMS were dispatched to the scene.

King was the driver of one of the vehicles involved and became trapped following the collision. She was extricated by emergency crews, and Decatur Fire and Rescue initiated emergency medical care. Despite those efforts, King was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner said the cause of death was blunt force trauma.

The driver of the second vehicle was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Authorities said the crash remains under investigation.

As loved ones grieve the sudden loss of a life cut short, the community is remembering Kayla King and holding her family and friends in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
