In Loving Memory of Kenija Sackss

HAMMOND, La. — The Hammond community is mourning the tragic loss of Kenija Sackss, 20, who was killed early Monday morning, January 19, in a fiery crash on I-10 in West Baton Rouge Parish.

According to Louisiana State Police, the vehicle he was traveling in collided with a tree and caught fire around 4:16 a.m. between Grosse Tete and Lobdell. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Kenija was pronounced dead.

The West Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office reported that his body was severely burned, and his remains were sent to the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office for DNA confirmation. The car was burned beyond recognition, and its make and model remain unknown.

Kenija Sackss’ sudden passing has left family, friends, and the Hammond community in deep mourning. Loved ones remember him for his bright spirit, warmth, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. His life, though tragically cut short, made a lasting impact on those who knew him.
