ROANOKE, Va. — The Roanoke community is mourning the tragic loss of Khireem Porter, who was fatally shot Sunday morning, February 8, 2026, in Northwest Roanoke.
At approximately 9:18 a.m., officers responded to the 2000 block of Carroll Avenue NW after reports of two men found inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds. Khireem Porter was one of the victims and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. The investigation into the circumstances of his death is ongoing, and a heavy police presence remains in the area.
