In Loving Memory of Phillip Michael Villafana

SANTA ANA, Calif. — The community is mourning the tragic loss of Phillip Michael Villafana, 27, of Long Beach, who was fatally struck by a vehicle on January 27, 2026.

Authorities reported that the incident occurred around 2:26 p.m. at the Orange Coin Car Wash, located at 117 N. Euclid Street. Emergency responders, including the Orange County Fire Authority, found Villafana trapped beneath the vehicle. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Villafana was lying in the driveway of the car wash when a vehicle entering the property struck him. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. He was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The Santa Ana Police Department’s Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) is continuing to investigate the circumstances of this fatal collision.
