In Loving Memory of Rachel Renee Robinson

MACON, Ga. — The Macon community is grieving the tragic loss of Rachel Renee Robinson, 55, who was found unresponsive in her cell at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center on Sunday afternoon and later pronounced deceased at Atrium Health Navicent.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, corrections deputies discovered Robinson at approximately 2:08 p.m. Medical personnel provided immediate lifesaving efforts until Emergency Medical Services arrived to transport her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly before 6 p.m.

Robinson had been incarcerated since November 22, 2025, following her arrest by the Atrium Health Navicent Police Department on a charge of battery against a law enforcement officer. The Bibb County Coroner has confirmed her identity and notified her next of kin.

An autopsy will be performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, as mandated for all in-custody deaths. Additionally, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Office of Professional Standards is reviewing the circumstances surrounding her passing.

Her sudden death has left family, friends, and the local community in deep mourning. Those who knew her remember her presence and the impact she had on the lives around her. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office extended condolences to her loved ones and all affected by her passing.
