PHOENIX — The Phoenix community is heartbroken over the tragic passing of 40-year-old Ruben Almanza, who lost his life in a crash on Lower Buckeye Road near 75th Avenue on Thursday, January 29, 2026.
Ruben’s death has left an irreplaceable void for his family, friends, and all who knew him. Those closest to him remember him as a kind, caring, and generous soul who brought warmth, laughter, and light into the lives of everyone around him. His compassion, sense of humor, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed.
The crash also claimed the life of 35-year-old Melvina Jones, a reminder of how fragile and precious life can be. Ruben’s family is mourning not only his loss but the profound impact his absence leaves on their hearts.
During this incredibly difficult time, family and friends are finding comfort in sharing memories of Ruben’s life — the moments of joy, the laughter, the love, and the connections he nurtured. His spirit, kindness, and the love he gave freely will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
