In Loving Memory of Shadaiyah O’Hara

CHICAGO — The Kenwood community is mourning the tragic loss of 10-year-old Shadaiyah O’Hara, who was found dead at her home in the 4400 block of South Drexel on the evening of Saturday, February 7, 2026. Emergency responders transported her to Comer Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, her death has been ruled a suicide.

Shadaiyah’s passing has left her family, friends, and neighbors devastated. Those who knew her remember a bright, caring, and joyful child whose presence brought warmth to everyone around her.
