In Loving Memory of Shawn Challis-Eatough

OTTAWA, Ontario — The Ottawa and Brantford communities are mourning the tragic loss of Shawn Challis-Eatough, 28, whose life was cut short in a fatal stabbing on January 28, 2026, in the 1400 block of Mayview Avenue.

Shawn was discovered by Ottawa Police after reports of a stabbing. Despite immediate efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Family, friends, and loved ones are grappling with the profound grief of losing a young life taken far too soon.

Authorities have confirmed that Shawn’s death is being investigated as a homicide. Steve Vivian, 41, of Ottawa, and Anthony Meredith, 19, of Kitchener, Ontario, have been charged with second-degree murder. A 41-year-old Ottawa woman has also been arrested in connection with the case. Investigators continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.

Shawn’s passing has left a void for those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for the joy, warmth, and spirit he brought into the lives of family, friends, and the community.
