Chesterfield County, Va. — With deep sadness, the Chesterfield County community is mourning the loss of Shawn M. Humphrey, 24, who died after being struck by a vehicle Sunday evening.
According to Chesterfield County Police, the crash occurred at approximately 7 p.m. on Feb. 8 in the 15000 block of Woods Edge Road. A 2011 Acura MDX traveling eastbound reportedly struck Humphrey, who was a pedestrian in the roadway. He was rushed to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Despite medical efforts, Shawn M. Humphrey passed away on Feb. 10 as a result of his injuries, leaving family, friends, and loved ones heartbroken.
Authorities confirmed that the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with investigators. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
