In Loving Memory of Tayeba Rezaie

GAITHERSBURG, Md. – The community is grieving the tragic loss of Tayeba Rezaie, 15, of Pasadena, Maryland, who was killed Wednesday morning in a collision on Lockwood Drive.

According to the Montgomery County Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 11:19 a.m. on January 14, 2026. Officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene after reports of a collision involving a white Lexus GS350 and a Toyota Corolla.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the Lexus, traveling southbound, clipped the front of the Toyota while attempting to avoid a collision. The Lexus then lost control and struck a wooden utility pole. Tayeba Rezaie, a passenger in the Lexus, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Other occupants of the Lexus included a 20-year-old female passenger in critical condition, an 18-year-old male driver with minor injuries, and a 28-year-old female passenger with minor injuries. The driver of the Toyota was uninjured.

Tayeba’s sudden and tragic passing has left family, friends, and the community in deep grief. Those who knew her remember a bright, vibrant, and promising young life cut far too short. Her death is a devastating loss for her loved ones and a somber reminder of life’s fragility.

The Montgomery County Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the unit at 240-773-6620 to assist with the ongoing investigation.

Though her life was tragically cut short, Tayeba Rezaie’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her community.
