In Loving Memory of Teodoro Garcia Orrala

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron community is mourning the tragic loss of Teodoro Garcia Orrala, 62, who passed away Tuesday evening after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Brittain Road.

According to the Akron Police Department, the crash occurred around 6:05 p.m. in the 1600 block of Brittain Road, near the entrance to the Fred Nimmer Apartments. Investigators said a Ford Explorer, traveling northbound, struck Garcia Orrala while he was in a marked crosswalk near a traffic signal. He was transported by Akron Fire Department paramedics to Summa Health Akron, where he was pronounced deceased.

The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Teodoro Garcia Orrala of Akron. Authorities say it remains unclear whether he had the right of way or whether the vehicle entered the intersection against a traffic signal. The driver, a 24-year-old man, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected in the crash.

Garcia Orrala is remembered by family, friends, and neighbors as a cherished member of the Akron community. His sudden passing has left loved ones heartbroken, and the community continues to keep his family in their thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
