The Oklahoma City community is mourning the tragic and untimely death of Thomas Lovelace, age 41, who was fatally shot early Sunday morning in northeast Oklahoma City.
At approximately 12:40 a.m., officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at a 7-Eleven near NE 23rd Street and North Kelley Avenue. Investigators learned that an argument between two individuals began inside the store and escalated outside in the parking lot. During the altercation, Thomas was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police later identified the suspect as 18-year-old Deonta Walker, who was arrested during a traffic stop near the 1400 block of NE 29th Street and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a murder complaint.
Thomas Lovelace’s death has left a profound impact on his family, friends, and the local community. He is remembered for the life he lived and the connections he made, rather than the tragic circumstances of his passing.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Oklahoma City Police Department.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and loved ones of Thomas Lovelace during this heartbreaking time. May he rest in peace.
