In Loving Memory of Troy Polkey

SCHRIEVER, La. — The Schriever community is mourning the tragic loss of Troy Polkey, 59, who died Thursday afternoon following a devastating motorcycle crash in Terrebonne Parish.

According to Louisiana State Police, the crash occurred around 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 20 and Back Project Road. Polkey was riding his motorcycle westbound on LA Highway 20 when a Chevrolet Impala, traveling north on Back Project Road, failed to yield at a stop sign and struck him. Polkey sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Impala was uninjured and confirmed to be not impaired following toxicology and breath tests.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash to determine all contributing factors.
