SEYMOUR, Conn. – The Seymour community is grieving the loss of Wade Meeker, 51, of Danbury, who was fatally killed in a head-on crash Thursday, January 15.
The collision occurred around 3:45 p.m. at the busy intersection of Route 34 (Roosevelt Drive) and Maiden Lane. Wade Meeker was found unresponsive behind the wheel of his 2010 Nissan Rogue. First responders rushed to the scene and worked tirelessly to save him, but tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash also involved an 18-year-old woman, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries. She was conscious and alert when taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities say moments before the collision, a Nissan was reported driving erratically by Monroe officers, and Seymour police were already heading to the area when the crash occurred. The Seymour Police Department, with assistance from the Connecticut State Police CARS Unit, is actively investigating the incident.
