HOT SPRINGS, AR — The Hot Springs community mourns the loss of Rodrick Harris, 44, who tragically lost his life in a shooting on Monday, February 9, 2026. Police responded to a residence on Cypress Street around 1:44 P.M. and found Mr. Harris with a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Hot Springs Police Criminal Investigations Division identified 35-year-old Monique Wimbley as a suspect. With assistance from the Garland County Tactical Response Team, she was taken into custody without incident and charged with First-Degree Murder and Terroristic Act. She is currently being held at the Garland County Detention Center.
Rodrick Harris will be remembered by his family, friends, and community. His sudden passing leaves a profound impact on all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
