FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. — The Fauquier County community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 36-year-old Kristin L. Gheen of Sumerduck, who tragically died in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning, Feb. 1, 2026.
According to Virginia State Police, Gheen was traveling northbound on Route 17 near Dyes Lane around 2:30 a.m. when her 2019 Kia Forte ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities reported that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Kristin will be remembered by friends, family, and neighbors for her kindness, warmth, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her. Her passing leaves a profound void in the Fauquier County community.
