Leominster Woman Killed in Tragic Head-On Crash in Southborough

A 37-year-old woman has been identified following a tragic head-on crash early Friday morning in Southborough.

According to the Southborough Police Department, officers were dispatched to Route 9 East, also known as Turnpike Road, at approximately 2:51 a.m. on Feb. 20 after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a serious motor vehicle collision.

When first responders from the Southborough Police and Fire Departments arrived on scene, they found two vehicles involved in a severe crash. Authorities later confirmed the collision is suspected to have been head-on.

One of the drivers, identified as 37-year-old Crystal Clementi of Leominster, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said the impact of the crash caused fatal injuries.

The second driver, a 23-year-old woman from Bolton, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Her injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.

The crash remains under active investigation by the Southborough Police Department, with assistance from the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) Crash Reconstruction Team and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances that led to the early morning collision.

Authorities have not released additional details at this time as the investigation continues.
