Local Student Identified in Fatal Sugarcreek Township Crash

SUGARCREEK TWP. — A local student killed in a crash over the weekend has been identified as Jack Teemer III, 17, according to the Greene County Coroner’s Office.

The crash occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday on Waynesville Road near Centerville Road in Sugarcreek Township. An initial investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol indicates Teemer was driving a 2002 Saab 9-3 southbound when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.

A witness told News Center 7 that Teemer was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Teemer was a student in the Oakwood City Schools District. Oakwood Police Dispatch confirmed they were aware of his death but said no additional details were available at this time.

Officials with Kettering City Schools also confirmed Teemer was enrolled in the automotive program at Kettering Fairmont Career Tech Center, which serves students from Kettering, Oakwood, and Centerville through a career technical education compact.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
