ALCONA COUNTY, Mich. — A Montrose man tragically lost his life early Monday in a single-vehicle crash along M-65 in Alcona County.
The Alcona County Sheriff’s Office reported that Ryan Bishop, 26, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado northbound around 6:10 a.m. when his truck went off the roadway a short distance south of Sawmill Road in Curtis Township.
The pickup truck, which belonged to Dubois Electric of Indian River, went airborne in the ditch and struck a large tree along the road. An Alcona EMS crew pronounced Bishop dead at the scene.
Investigators said there is no indication that Bishop was speeding or under the influence at the time of the crash. The Alcona County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances that caused him to leave the roadway.
The sudden loss of Ryan Bishop has left family, friends, and the community mourning a life cut tragically short.
