Two men were shot Friday night in Dallas, leaving one dead and another injured, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire just before 11 p.m. on Elsie Fay Heggins Street, near Wahoo Park. When authorities arrived, they found 21-year-old Jackie Jernigan suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second man who was also shot was transported by private vehicle to a local hospital. His condition has not been publicly released, and his identity has not yet been disclosed.
Detectives are actively investigating what led to the shooting. As of Saturday afternoon, no suspects have been taken into custody.
