One Dead, One Injured in UTV Crash in Sebastian County

SEBASTIAN COUNTY, Ark. — A deadly UTV crash early Wednesday morning claimed the life of a Fort Smith woman and left another person injured, according to Arkansas State Police.

Authorities said the wreck occurred around 2 a.m. on February 11 near the intersection of State Highway 96 and Dalmut Road. A Polaris side-by-side was traveling west when the driver lost control while navigating a right-hand curve.

The vehicle veered into a ditch and rolled over. The driver was injured and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. A passenger, identified as 41-year-old Crystal Bieler of Fort Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police noted that weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
