TYLER, Texas — A tragic road-rage incident Friday night in Tyler claimed the life of 29-year-old Trevor Julian, a Whitehouse resident and U.S. Marine, authorities said. Julian, a graduate of Carthage High School, was pronounced dead at a Tyler hospital following the shooting.
Tyler police confirmed the arrest of 23-year-old Dayton Alexander Morgan of Ben Wheeler. Morgan has been charged with first-degree murder and remained on the scene until police arrived.
According to Tyler police spokesman Andy Erbaugh, the incident occurred at the intersection of Grande Boulevard and Paluxy Drive. Julian reportedly exited his vehicle, a white Tesla, and approached the driver’s side of a white Ram pickup driven by Morgan. Morgan fired a shot through the pickup’s window, striking Julian in the neck. Police reported there is no evidence that Julian was armed during the confrontation.
Authorities said Morgan was detained without incident, and the investigation into the circumstances of the road-rage incident is ongoing.
The community mourns the loss of Trevor Julian, honoring his service in the U.S. Marines and remembering the life of a young man whose passing leaves family, friends, and neighbors in deep grief. Tyler police continue to gather information and ask anyone with details about the incident to come forward.
