SHARP COUNTY, Ark. — The Sharp County community is mourning the loss of Patrick Black, a 73-year-old man from Hardy, who was tragically killed in a pedestrian accident Friday afternoon on Highway 412, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Authorities said the crash occurred at approximately 1:39 p.m. when Black was in the roadway on Hwy 412. A westbound 2011 Buick struck him, causing fatal injuries. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Black was pronounced deceased as a result of the collision.
The Arkansas State Police Fatal Crash Report noted that weather conditions were clear, and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident. Investigators have not released the name of the driver involved, and no additional contributing factors were cited in the preliminary report.
