Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run on I-95 in Cocoa

COCOA, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred on northbound I-95 near mile marker 205, close to State Road 528.

According to FHP, an unknown vehicle struck a pedestrian, who was later identified as 29-year-old D.J. Strozier of Cocoa. Strozier was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver fled before troopers arrived, and authorities have not yet released any information about the vehicle or driver.

Northbound I-95 traffic was temporarily redirected onto the SR-528 exit ramp but has since reopened.

FHP is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from the area to contact them at *347 or call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS. The investigation remains ongoing.
