WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Winston-Salem community is mourning the tragic loss of Sarah Jane Robinson, 65, who was killed in a pedestrian crash on Friday night.
According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, officers responded around 8:33 p.m. to the 2800 block of New Walkertown Road following reports of a crash involving a pedestrian. At the scene, Robinson was found lying in the road and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say Robinson was walking west in the westbound lanes of New Walkertown Road when she was struck by a westbound pickup truck. The Traffic Enforcement Unit of WSPD is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. Authorities have not released additional information at this time.
