Teen Killed, Two Others Injured in Kenosha Shooting

KENOSHA, Wis. — A 16-year-old boy, identified as Isiah Cooper, was killed and two other teenagers were injured in a shooting Wednesday night near 6th Avenue and 60th Street, just a block from Library Park, according to the Kenosha Police Department.

Officers were called to the area shortly before 8:00 p.m. after reports of multiple people shot. When police arrived, they found three victims. Cooper was suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 19-year-old man also sustained gunshot wounds, and a 15-year-old boy suffered a head injury. Both were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Police arrested a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man at a nearby residence. Authorities have not released details about what led up to the shooting.

Investigators said the incident appears to be isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

The Kenosha Unified School District confirmed all three victims attend schools in the district. District officials said the victim who died was a Bradford High School student, while the injured victims attend Indian Trail High School. Counseling services are being made available to students.
