TEMPLE, Texas — A Sunday afternoon disturbance in Temple left one man dead, and authorities have identified both the victim and the suspect.
Temple Police say Ramirez Wilson, 40, of Temple, was found unresponsive just before 2 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of South 37th Street. Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived and transported Wilson to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The suspect, Eddie Mathis, Jr., has been located and interviewed by investigators. Temple Police had initially asked for the public’s help in finding him. No other injuries were reported.
The Criminal Investigation Division and Crime Scene Unit of the Temple Police Department remained on-site during the investigation. Authorities said the case remains active pending further investigation and autopsy results.
