Two Charged in Stabbing Death of 37-Year-Old Man in Carrington, Ottawa

OTTAWA, Ont. — Two individuals have been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of 37-year-old Andrew Dawson-Swann in the Carrington neighborhood early Friday morning.

Ottawa police responded to a 30-unit building on Shillington Avenue near Hollington Street at approximately 12:30 a.m., where they discovered the victim. Paramedics transported Dawson-Swann to a local hospital in critical condition, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police identified the suspects as 32-year-old Sabrina Danis Charlebois and 30-year-old Cody Maltby. Both have been charged with second-degree murder, appeared in court, and remain in custody.

This marks the second homicide in Ottawa in 2026. Authorities noted that the investigation is taking place approximately one kilometer from the scene of another stabbing that occurred last week on Mayview Avenue.

Ottawa police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Dawson-Swann’s death and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
