Two Killed, Teen Injured in Bryan County Crash

BRYAN COUNTY, Okla.— Two people were killed and a teenager was injured in a head-on collision Thursday night outside Durant, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash occurred just before 10 p.m. on U.S. Highway 70 between Durant and Blue. Investigators reported that a vehicle driven by a 15-year-old from Durant was traveling westbound when it crossed left of center and struck an eastbound vehicle head-on.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle, identified as 60-year-old Charles Bumpas of Sawyer, and his passenger, 61-year-old Mynda Dilbeck, also of Sawyer, were killed in the collision. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 15-year-old driver of the westbound vehicle sustained injuries in the crash. Authorities have not released details regarding the severity of those injuries.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol stated that the crash remains under investigation as officials work to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal collision.
